A Pleasanton resident has been charged with murder following a fatal DUI-related crash in San Ramon, according to the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office.
Badal Devendra Dholaria, 27, is scheduled for arraignment on December 4 at 1:30 pm in Martinez. The five-count felony complaint includes one count of murder related to the death of a 41-year-old woman from Castro Valley. Dholaria also faces two counts of driving under the influence causing injury and two counts of driving with a blood alcohol content above .08% causing injury. The charges include enhancements for causing great bodily injury to both the deceased woman and a 40-year-old man, also from Castro Valley.
District Attorney Diana Becton stated, “I want to be clear: every DUI-related incident represents a choice — a choice that can kill. If you’re impaired, don’t drive. Every time you get behind the wheel under the influence, you’re gambling with lives. Whether it’s alcohol, marijuana, prescription medications, or illegal drugs, any substance that impairs your ability to operate a vehicle safely makes you a danger on our roads.”
The case is filed as The People of the State of California v. Badal Devendra Dholaria (Case No 01-25-04261).
