The Contra Costa County Public Works Department is set to conduct topographical survey work on Kirker Pass Road between Nortonville Road and Hess Road. The project is scheduled from January 6 to January 9, 2026, in the unincorporated areas of Concord and Pittsburg.
Surveying will occur in the westbound lane, about one mile west of the eastern intersection with Nortonville Road and half a mile east of the eastern intersection with Hess Road. Work hours are planned from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., depending on weather conditions and may be adjusted based on traffic patterns.
Traffic control measures will be limited to shoulder closures, and officials do not expect significant impacts for drivers. Motorists are advised to slow down while passing through the construction area.
According to the Contra Costa County Public Works Department, “The Contra County Public Works Department (CCCPWD) is responsible for the maintenance and operation of over 650 miles of roads, 79 miles of streams and channels, and over 150 County buildings.
