Residents of Contra Costa County can learn more about the work of the Public Works Department through a program called “Inside Public Works.” The show provides information on how the department serves both customers and communities throughout the county.
The Contra Costa County Public Works Department (CCCPWD) is responsible for maintaining over 660 miles of roads, 150 miles of streams, channels, and other drainage systems, as well as more than 150 county buildings. The department also manages services such as parks and recreation, sandbag distribution, and flood control in unincorporated areas. Additionally, CCCPWD operates Buchanan Field Airport in Concord and Byron Airport in Byron.
“Inside Public Works” is available to watch on YouTube. More details about the department’s responsibilities and programs can be found at www.cccpublicworks.org.
